Tech Team Lead

Your goal
For our Tech Department in Doetinchem, we are currently looking for a hands-on Technical Team Lead to guide our development team and contribute directly to building our platforms.

As Technical Team Lead, you will be both a coach and a contributor: fostering a positive and productive work culture, and ensuring smooth processes, while also actively working on the architecture and development of our platforms. You will bridge short-term delivery goals with long-term technical vision, making sure our solutions are scalable, maintainable, and high performing.
Your responsibilities
  • Lead and coach a team of developers;
  • Together with the Product Owner, manage the backlog, set priorities, and safeguard software quality;
  • Work hands-on in our codebase, contributing to features and solving complex technical challenges;
  • Define and improve agile processes (Scrum, code reviews, CI/CD);
  • Drive architectural decisions and select the right tools and frameworks;
  • Ensure close alignment with other teams such as Product Owners, Data & AI, and IT;
  • Monitor progress, quality, and the team’s technical direction;
  • Champion best practices in software development, testing, and security.
Your profile
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field;
  • At least 5 years of experience as a software developer, including 1–2 years in a leadership role;
  • Strong technical background in web development, ideally with PHP (Laravel), Vue, JavaScript/TypeScript, and scalable service architectures;
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) and CI/CD processes;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure is a plus;
  • Proven experience managing technical teams and mentoring both junior and senior developers;
  • Hands-on mentality with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address urgent issues pragmatically;
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English;
  • Track record of leading complex projects from conception to delivery using agile principles.
